decorative column saint-cloud

Our 'Saint-Cloud' model: a good example of architectural, structural and decorative cast column or pillar. It is fitted with nice and discrete end- casting works at both ends that give it, together with its nice smooth shot-blasted shaft, a nice aesthetic balance. It is very adequate for any type of indoor project (renovation, structural works, decoration, reclamations) as well as for outdoor constructions (verandas, pergolas, terraces, porches, arcades, balconies, canopies, patios...).

These decorative columns can be made to measure on demand. They retain their structural qualities up to an height of 2.5 m (they can bear load of 5.1 tons). Easy to install (mainly thanks to their light weigth, 3 times less than steel), they require absolutely no maintenance.

Saint-Cloud is the second richest 'commune' of France. Discreet, elegant and wealthy, it is located on the left bank of the Seine river, approximately 6 miles west of the center of Paris. Its inhabitants are bizzarely called "clodoaldiens". There is also a town called 'Saint-Cloud' in the US state of Minnesota, on the Mississippi river.

Saint-Cloud is also renowned for its huge 460 hectares of public park. A very nice mix of forests, flowered gardens, grandiose fountains (some of which like 'staircases'), a renowned horse-racing track. It is also in this park that you will find the "Pavillon de Breteuil", where the "mètre étalon" is kept: the very ancient sample of the metric lenght unit, in platinum coated with iridium. This physical sample in now totally useless and obsolete, since the physical lenght units are nowadays defined in relation with the speed of light.

Our columns are made of cast and extruded aluminum elements, all of which are produced in our traditional Belgian sand-casting foundry.
