decorative column chenonceau

Inspired by some decorative items of the castle of Chenonceau (France), here is a very slim and traditional model of cast decorative columns (with a diameter of 60 mm), with a discrete and elegant base, a modest but stylish smooth shaft, and a nicely sculpted cast capital in the Corinthian style. Thanks to its elegance and its remarkable aesthetic balance, it will fit nicely as a classic ornament in a traditional interior, a canopy, a classy restaurant...

This structural column will also embellish any outside construction project: veranda, terrace, pergola, porch, conservatory, canopy, gazebo etc. It is architectural, structural  and decorative at the same time. This model is available in diameter 60 mm (with a smooth shaft) and in diameter 80 mm (with a smooth or a fluted shaft). It will be very adequate for interior renovation and decoration projects.

The castle of Chenonceau, that constitutes a bridge on the Cher river in the Indre-et-Loire department, is probably the most elegant of the renowned "Chateaux de la Loire" in France. It presents a mix of "Renaissance" and "Gothic" architecture, and was built between 1515 and 1521. The French king Henry II offered it to his mistress Diane de Poitiers. It is home to a remarkable collection of ancient and more recent paintings: Le Tintoret, Rubens, Le Corrège, Nicolas Poussin, Utrillo... but it is also ornamented by a beautiful assortment of ancient flemish tapestries of the XVI century. After the 'Chateau de Versailles', the 'Chateau de Chenonceau' is the second most visited castle in France.

Our cast traditional decorative columns are all composed of elements produced in our own aluminium foundry located in Belgium, with the very ancient and traditional sand-casting technique. This is the true European Classic style.
